Alaska Football Part 36

Now our offense was coming with Jake leading them out. We were running a shotgun for the first play which was probably not the best play call on a 1st down. Jake and the center Dan had complete the snap which was cool. Jake was dropping back and threw a perfect pass that was dropped

The offense was not running well right now with flags for holding and false starts.  Coach Holcomb just watched in disappointment as he was probably blowing up on the inside. Our time was out sized x2 which did not help anything.

It was 3rd down with Jake dropping back and he was looking around and all of the sudden from his blind side this 300 pound guy comes up and pounces on him. He was slow to get up after that which was not a good hit.

Alaksa Football part 35

Our team was coming in for the tackle all together and as one of our special teams player had wrapped around the player everyone else had joined while they bring hit to the ground as a gang. Coach was not a fan of the special teams effort because of the two missed tackles.

Now it was time for our defense to take the field. The first play was now coming and I was excited to see what would happen here. The ball was snapped and it was a quick pitch to the running back. He passed our defensive line and then came to the linebacker who had failed a tackle then everyone swarmed to the running back but not before a 14 yard gain and coach did not like the starting defensive play.

Now it was first down and they through it to the tight end who caught a 10 yard pass and broke three tackles and scored which was not good of course. The defense came to the sideline as Coach Holcomb handed the phone to the middle linebacker not even saying a word but looking at him in disappointment. I couldn't really here what he was saying though.

Alaksa Football part 34

We were all running out of the tunnel and everyones attention was directed to Adrian was fans were cheering them on. It wasn't even close to the roar I heard at Michigan State which was the loudest thing I'de ever heard in my life.

Here we came getting ready and stretched out as the coin toss was one by us we had elected to kick today so we could get the ball back for the 2nd half. Our team was getting ready as the special teams unit got out on the field and was ready to go.

The kicker had placed the ball. Now he was running into the ball, bam the ball went into the ten yard line. The other team was now running the ball back. We had missed one tackle and then another which was making coach extremely irritated.

Alaska Football Part 33

Our team had got off of the plane and walked to the bus that took us to the stadium. Even though I knew that I wasn't playing I felt a little bit nervous. The bus had stopped at the university and we were now entering the stadium.

This stadium was definitely not as nice as Michigan States of course and definitely not as many people out there of course. The stadium was of course still bigger than ours. Our team walked into the locker room. We walked into the room and sat down as we put our stuff there.

Coach came into the room, "You guys ready to go". Coach said while clapping.  He had his long talk to us about the game and the plays that they were going to run. We were now ready to get out and warm up. Jake led the way.

Alaska Football Part 32

All week was a hard school week and I was very happy that it was finally the weekend. It was almost time for me to come back and  play football which I really did not want to do. My friends and I were all so tired of football and at this point I don't think any of us wanted to play.

Now it was Saturday and it was time for gameday. We hoped on the bus and drove to our plane as we were headed out to Adrain the site of our game. Although I was of course not playing I was kind of excited to see if our team could keep the game a little close.

We were now on our plane and it was time to take off. The plane ride was kind of enjoyable. Now we were almost there as coaches were checking out the teams and seeing what they could do to get our team prepared and able to win which was probably not going to be the case./

Alaska Football Part 31

Coach was not very happy with our perfromance so of course he talked about how disappointed he was in us for losing like that. I was freezing all practice sitting on the sideline. it had to have been 15 below. The practice was also terrible to watch.

This program needed to get us an indoor stadium. Practice looked very very hard and now was time for the actual running sets at the end. They ran 4000 yards that night. Everyone looked so out of breath some could barely even breath.

Everybody looked at  me like I was the luckiest person on earth. The practice was over and all of us want back to our dorms. I would most likely be back next week which I was not ready for at all. Im surprised no ones quit yet.

Alaska Football Part 30

Now that our team was back in the D3 league we were all wondering if this season would produce any close games. All day I worked on my homework and later went to bed of course. I wondering if I would if I would get any playing time this season.

I woke up the next day and got to school. It was a long long day and I was not happy that we had practice. It was so cold outside yet again. Once I stepped outside I was already freezing. Playing on this team was so hard.

I got to practice and we started with a ton of running after losing that game which made me almost feel lucky that the concussion prevented me from playing. Now here came the coach's speech which would not be fun to listen to because your ear drums will bleed.
