Alaska football episode 16

Our offensive line was definitely dreadful but I didn't think they were this bad. The only thing that has been happening with every single offensive play is a sack. If that doesn't happen then a fumble or interception will occur, maybe even a knockdown. This Michigan State was a fearful team; well at least for us. Winning a game would be a happy ending but still you must be a pretty horrendous team to go 1-11.

Now the thing I think about the most is what will this schools future be like. Bright and merry or dark and lob sided. Nick snapped the ball and gave a little dump pass to our running back. When he got the ball he spun while trying to shake two defenders he then got smashed by both of them.

I was impressed because we hadn't forced a turnover yet this drive. Coach screamed play six, which was a draw play (where the quarterback drops back to throw but doesn't so instead he hands it off to the running back).

By the time Gerald was done a was scared and I knew that I would get destroyed out there. I didn't stop worrying about for the time that I had but then the coaches looked like they were ready and Michigan State seemed like they had everything planned out so at that moment I finally heard the coaches say, "alright Jimmy, time to get out there". I started to sort of jog onto the field.

While I did that coach patted me on the back and at the same time pushed me while I jogged to my teamates and told them the play coach demanded me to use. Michigan State was only ten seconds away from snapping that ball and when they did I crashed the offensive line and then a lineman went up to me and nailed me with his shoulder and then I got up and ran after the ball but before I knew it they scored.

Now the scoreboard kind of got out of hand with 7:17 left on the clock our team no doubt about had some catching up to do.  When our offense got out on the field my leg started to kind of hurt but I knew I wouldn't be seriously injured by the time this game was over. Now poor Nick, he's probaly going to have to sit in the ice tub for 45 minutes after this games over.

At the begining of the second half my team had been down by a lot of points but that didn't stop me from giving up, and just kept on going and past the point I was furious so I decided to put on rage mode and kill some Michigan State Spartans. I was irratated because the coaches kept telling my defensive team to contain and just watch the play and then make the play. You see here the problem was I wanted to get in there and take out the quarterback but the coaches kept picking other stupid plays that I hated so much. And then I decided to just get out there and sack that quarterback; no matter what those annoying coaches told me. I then looked closely at the ball and I saw the all american center from Michigan State snap the ball and not even for a second did I think about stop I just ran right to the offensive lineman so that I could smack the quarterback strait into the ground and that's when they snapped the ball and I dove over and at that moment of airtime and tripped over the center's leg and my hands landed on the quarterback not very firmly but then I brought him down and still I was in air and at the moment my leg hit the ground and I had felt pain like I've never ever felt before.

When the offense was done on the field it was the defenses turn to get on the field and Gerald was a raging mad men as he looked very angry, mad, and determined. Once he got out there he set up in his position and the coaches did not look ready so our defensive coordinator was in a big rush trying to call a play, everything wasn't set up right they kept yelling, " play X, " contain". Then  because of this they called timeout to get back on the same track.

Our coach just kind of sent everybody off after telling them the play. Coach said to Gerald that he was the player who had to contain the most so he basically told him that for the next three plays he had to contain and Gerald probably wasn't very happy about this but it seemed like he would listen to coach even with all of his rage.

A New Arangement

Gerald set up in his stance and when the quarterback called hike he stayed were he was and observed what was going on and then we some how stopped them again and the next play exactly the same thing happened and then they got a first down. Coaches were yelling to Gerald "contain" and that's when the quarterback snapped the ball and Gerald just barged right through the offensive line and then he got tripped up and he then for the quarterback and wrapped him up the quarterback went down. Then he fell down on the floor after bending his leg and he feel on the inside of his knee and then the refs blew the whistle and there he was laying on the ground not able to get up and that's when something hit me and I felt like the way you would feel if someone gave you a phone call that you would get if you were to die in seven days and that's when the training staff looked at it and they declared in minutes that he was out THE ENTIRE SEASON.

The score was now 43-7 and this was extremely unfortunate but one thing that stood out was that we actually scored a touchdown and every time Michigan State scores a touchdown or makes a play I always notice we have the one little touchdown that Michigan State just wants to forget about although I'm sure there not very worried about the way this game will end. No the ball was on our ten yard line and that wasn't a good sign at all.

All of the players stepped out onto the field and all of the sudden the refs said that they wanted to take a look and see if Michigan State actually got the two point conversion. Now to be honest I thought they got it but it looked like he was very close to the goal line and he did reach the ball over the goal line but if the refs thought different then we couldn't change anything. The head referee walked out onto the field and didn't overturn the call which was most likely the more intellectual call.

Now our guys got ready to score on offense although they definitely weren't going to get the touchdown. When Nick snapped the ball he looked to the side for Perry Haroah and he was guarded very tight but because of all the confidence he had he threw the ball up, up, up in the air and he came down with it but then all of the sudden he turned around and there was 350 pounds of industrial human drilling him which made him fumble and before the ball rolled out of bounds a Michigan State player who's last name from my distance looked like bollough had gotten it.

It was third down and Michigan State went with a more safe play but still effective. And of course they ended up converting but still what else should we have expected to happen. Now it was first and ten of course. Ball on their own 33 which was pretty far away from the end zone and then they handed it off to Langford and he got another first down then a touchdown.

Instead of a easy extra point they faked one and threw it for a two-point conversion, I thought it was because they were mad about the whole third down dabogle. This mad my team sort of mad and I could tell Gerald wanted to smoke these guys. Coach sent out the offensive line and the quarterback out so he could talke to the wide receivers, running backs, and full backs.

Our team had a fumbled snap and Michigan State recovered it and that's when Gerald stepped on the field to play. Our lineman were a little slow to get off the field and our center had his hands over his head like he was very angry and mad but that didn't fool coach to spend a little mercy on him.

But even as that thought touched his mind he knew that for him to drift home would be rootless and without any stake in the country.

When all the players got on the sideline to see the Coach because the first quarter was over we all were beaten up horribly and Coach just seemed like he didn't care even a tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny bit. And he was definietly desprete for a win or maybe hes just a horrible person; I don't really understand why he has to be so mean all the time. It was now time to begin the second quarter and Coach Holcomb had a little longer talk then the other team had so the refs walked over towards him and told him to get his players on the field.

I could tell the refs were freezing, that's something that we have never minded, I mean it's not like we a champs when it comes to being cold, we've just gotten so adjusted to it that we hardly even notice cold weather anymore. Another strong herd of wind attacked us from the left and then I looked up and noticed our team caused a second down situation with 14:32 on the clock for the second quarter.

Michigan State threw the ball deep and a player named Iman had slapped the ball preventing a touchdown. Now it was third and ten which made Coach very happy but still he did have his dark side and that is what made our team scared of him because no matter what he always had a dark side. Now one thing I observed this game is that almost every student or fan thought of us as a bunch of eskemos that are unathletic and that made us mad and angry which would improve our determination and that is a terrific thing that we could certainly use to win.

Alaska football special

On the warm and crisp evening of the snug August night I had been watching my team and observing many things for scouting and recruiting. I saw many players do well and one thing that caught my eye was that all of them tried there best which was the first step to succed a football team. I looked at everyone's forty yard dash time and many of them were sort of slow compared to the other teams but I relized something important which was that I could take all of these players and make them into starts.

Later on in the day I finished up all my notes and later took them to my office and did some editing and revising because later I would have to hand them into our general manager (GM) and he was my boss so I wanted every aspect of them to be absuloutley sharp and clean cut. I gazed down at my paper with the light on and I read

Alberto Roberts: Sort of slow but big and can put up lots of wait on people. Best Position: OL
Jake Vany: Okay speed and sort of quick. Best Position: Flanker

I did some tweeks and then walked to Frank's office (who was our GM) and then I knocked on his door and he said, "hey Tom do you want to come in. "Well I have completed my notes and I would like to hand them to you, I responded. "Oh right, okay". I then handed him the notes and he said back, "well have a nice day", "okay Frank see you tomorrow, "bye". We both walked away and I peeked threw his windwo and saw him filling out other otherpapers.

When coach yelled that it made everyone on our team more scared and even a little bit more mad but still at least some of us had to relize that we can't beat Michigan State. I thought to myself about ways that I could look like I was watching the game but at the same time just slack off and not care at all. So every once in a while when something bad happened I would say all kinds of things like anger. happiness. decentness.

the score was 35-7 with five minutes to go in the first quarter. Now it isn't even that rare at this point, we might just lose 100-7. If that occured we would be dead meet because of Coach and even if we weren't dead meet we would still have a grudge held on us from the coaches but that was not at all what I worried about.

T.J. Holken who was our safety had just gotten drilled by a MSU wide receiver. So basically the wide receiver caught the ball then charged at T.J. and when his helmet smashed into T.J., T.J. front flipped over the wide receiver and then fell hard on the ground. This made him hurt but he got right back up and Coach Holcomb of course screamed at him with all his lungs could take.

Literary essay

In Wonder by R.J. Palacio Auggie it changes because Auggie used to have absolutely no confidence although later his life got better and he enjoyed himself more. Now he feels a lot more confident about the way he looks because of the awards, and the friends, and his toughness. I believe that he has got more confident about his face because it's gone from , "why am I so ugly mommy", to, "No one seemed to care if it was my face that was next to theirs or not". It would appear that Auggie has grown and gained more friends and all of these things have made him a more content person and that is how his self confidence has blossomed.

I was not sure if Auggie would ever grow his self confidence but in the end everything just came together and not just his self confidence but his face maybe even his entire life turned over a new leaf when all the friends, awards, and teachers started to love him which clearly made him more confident and happy.

The score was now 21-7 and when I saw coach walking down the stairs he looked a little more chill but still I could tell he was holding in fuses of anger. Maybe later all of his anger will suddenly just explode. Our coordinators told us to play better and that our blockers needed to play better. He told them to just get in front of the defense for at least 5 seconds. "Is that too much to ask"!, he yelled.

Mrs. Robert's favorite moments

When I walked down to my teachers room on the day of move up day. I saw her and I was with my friends yet I was very nervous and once I got in the room she said hi to all of us and I thought about what 5th grade would be like. I was nervous about the kids, teachers, learning, not having much fun, and lots of homework but I think Mrs. Roberts manages all of that perfectly. I really liked my teacher in 3/4 and honestly I really didn't feel that ready for fifth grade although I am know.
 
Then I got back from summer break and she was really nice but one thing I noticed about her that was a terrific quality to have was she was the funniest teacher I have ever met in my entire life.  At the end of the day when you say Mrs. Roberts the first thing that pops into my head is funny. I was definitely scared to  go into fifth grade but one things for sure Mrs. Roberts is a great teacher.

I looked very close to see coach as he walked to the booth. Then I pivoted my head back to the game and saw that our quarterback was frustrated wehn coming off the field. Michigan State Kicked the extra point, made it, and got ready for the kickoff as the crowd screamed go green, go white. The ball went into Denzele who was our kick returner as he ran out to the 30 and was hit by a player but suddenly my team noticed him still up as he shaked another tackle as he got to the 50 yard line to the 40 to the 30 to the 20 to the ten and all the way for a touchdown as Michigan State's coach yelled as hard as he could at the players.

Now I could tell that Denzele was extremely happy as everyone on our team got so happy and they chest bumped, high fived, hand shaker, slapped his head, and pushed him in excitement. Our team had confidence as we were losing by so much early but at least we had a touchdown. Michigan State snapped the ball and threw it far down feild of course and well he scored. Extra point split the uprights and the kick was ready to go. It looked like some little kids were zipping like an un-steady laser beam threw ther field so they could place the kickoff tee on the ground because most football programs have that sort of system which they call kickoff kids.

Coach Holcomb was still in the booth while my team kept thinking what is he doing up there. Michigan State kicked the ball off sort of to the side and Denzele got the ball again but instead of a great return he was wrecked by a amazing amazing specila teams player who was like Michigan State's amazing player although we needed to score again if there is any chance at all we win. I tried to warm up my hands by breathing warm air into them as finally I saw Coach Holcomb walking down the stiars with both our defensive and offensive coordinators.

When our quarterback snapped the ball he knew everything had changed. He understood that he would know be carrying the entire team on his shoulders. He looked for wide receiver Jake moid as a Michigan State player dove and picked it off. Now Michigan State had possesion of the ball inside the 30 which was obviously terrific field position.

This made coach go ballistic, by now it was clear to the players even maybe the entire school that he's a jerk so Holcomb was a infamous person by far. First play Langford who was there running back ran the ball to the one before being stopped by a huge mofia of players on our team. The refs reviewed it and it was a touchdown and that of course set Coach Holcomb off. At this time the score was 14-0 and we hadn't even gone by two minutes in the game.

Coach called a timeout and he told the offense to go cut out the turnovers, get mad, and get pumped. This time our quarterback walked out on to the field with a lot more confidence as he yelled hike he faked a handoff and got sacked right after he faked the handoff so then he fumbled and a player named Shalieke Calhoun got the ball and ran it all the way for a touchdown. Coach Holcomb didn't even react he just slammed his head set to the ground and walked up to the booth to talk to the coordinators in person.

When the Michigan state punt receiver got the ball he ran to the side line as he broke a tackle then tore another one after that he twisted threw 4 players but when he turned around Brooks a special teams wrecker wrapped him and then a big mob tackled Michigan state's punt returner as coach didn't show any body language but I could just tell he breathed a huge sign in relief. By then Michigan States offense came on the field and I coach made some hand signal to the special teams players to get off the field.

Michigan state's quarterback threw the ball deep down the field to a wide receiver named Tony Lippet as he jumped as high as he possibly could and came down with it. Coach had loads of fury so he told the cornerback to sit out the next play and that's why Spencer Flyer went in at cornerback. Know Michigan State kicked the extra point and made it while there coach was happy and there fans were freaking out and making tons and tons of noise, maybe even more than any of us have ever heard in our entire life.

Tony Lippett was definitely celebrating and the whole staff of Michigan State kept high fiving and patting his head from the side line. Our team just looked like they didn't know what to do while every player was sitting on the bench getting screamed at by coach Holcomb while they spit blood out there mouths and wiped blood of the faces and elbows with there jerseys. Gerald walked out looking at the shabby skinny coach of Michigan State.

Once our team got out on offense they snapped the ball right away and there hadn't even been a minute that's gone by as we were still losing 7-0. Our quarterback hiked the ball and ran to the side with the running back and right then a defender came up to him so he pitched the ball to our Running back as he caught the ball and before picking up a yard a Michigan State player slammed him to the ground and he was down. When the doctor came out onto the field he said that he was diagnosed with a torn ligament.

Why is writing important

• Anytime your writing a letter or something like that you must have things like good grammar, commas in the correct places, Periods, and proper spelling so writing isn't always for you, it's for other people.
• You have to say things in real life that are some what ittelectaul so if you write your basically doing the same thing and completing this is crucial.
• If someone has trouble with directions or anything writig realated you can't help them if you don't know writing.
• Know of course in school you have to know writing so why not start now and just learn the basics.

Alaska Football Episode 5

My friends and I were over by the endzone stretching and talking to each other as we were a little nevous yet calm cause we don't play. Coach was talking to our quarterback Nick Zilinksi who looked terrified and by the looks of this team the only thing we could do was get killed. Our coach sat us all down in the lockeroom once again as he gave a speech and got us fired up that's when we ran as fast as we could out of the tunnel as I looked around and saw tons and tons of green and white in the audience. I looked up and there was the big TV where you could see what was happening.

At that moment coach sent Nick, Gerald, and Brett (our running back) to the coin toss as we won it and  that caused us to be the team recieving the kickoff. Michigan state stadium was blasting with fans yelling as the kicker flicked the ball the fans yelled GO STATE! and the ball went 63 yards so our kick returner ran across the field but before even making it to the 20 yard line he got tripped up at the 12 by a huge 270 pound guy and the training staff walked on the field as he calimed his ankle was sprained or broken they took him off the field.

Now Nick took full control of the offense as the play was a pass he tried to fire the ball to a reciever named Kinney who then dropped a simple pass coach Holcomb flippped out and he got really upset that's when he signeled the offense to run HB stretch wihich was just a little outside handoff. The results of thta play were very ugly as it was a lose of six yards so now it was 3rd and 16 ball on the 6. The play call was zig zag routes as Nick called hike he dropped back but he could not find anyone so he rolled out the other way but right when he turned his should bam! a Michigan state player sacked him so we were forced to punt.

Alaska Football Episode 4

All of us checked out our bags and went threw tons of annoying stuff. Then we got on the bus and it took us to East Lansing. I could just tell that we were at the college by the way the people looked on the outside and now the big broad sign came up saying "Michigan State University". We now arrived as we got out of the bus and walked up to the field.

I then saw more people than I have ever seen in my entire life and the crowd kept yelling stuff like go green, go white. My team was now in the locker room and our coaches were talking to us as we knew the game plan . After that all of us stretched and threw the ball around. I got to say I was horrified by the way there team looked with there sleeves and visors on there helmets also the fact that most of them out weighted us by like 50 pounds and I bet there quarterback was bigger then our linebacker.

The Big game

       My team had been so nervous and we just wanted to win and we were playing a team called Michigan State and they were ranked number 14 in the nation so it would not be a fun game. We were on the plane and the coach was writing up some plays.  My friends and I were hanging out and sitting together as we looked out through the window. I got up to go to the bathroom and on my way there coach Holcomb stopped me to talk. He said, "I need you to watch Gerald and see what formations the offense lines up in so he can be more successful, got it". "Yes coach”, I responded. Gerald was our starting middle linebacker. Another thing I saw was our. Quarterback studying formations and other things included with plays and such.

When I got back my friends were listening to music and they didn't listen to me at all. That's when I decided to do that as well. We were almost landing and  I could see the platform by now as the ball flew from a steeper position. Now we hit the ground and we stopped at a area and we got off.

Alaska Football episode 2

Day by day weather stayed the same and football practices got worst and worst but one thing’s for sure we looked pretty sharp. And the first game was next Saturday. Our coach got really mad because he thought we needed to be more enthusiastic although I thought we looked great. Coach Tom had the scout team come out so we could get a little more practice. My position was 2^nd string Linebacker and right now I got to go in. The season would be easier because I just kind of sat on the bench and watched so technically my position was Linebacker but my role was benchwarmer. Now our linebacker was insane and he could just sack any quarter back he wanted to so I could tell coach Kyle would play him a lot

Our head coach was coach Holcomb, defensive coordinator was coach Kyle, and our offensive coordinator was coach Wing. Now coach Wing was the nicest coach and our other coach: Coach Kyle had a bunch of tooth decay and he was very strict but not even close to meeting coach Holcomb. Practice was just working on blocking and punts.

The night never ended we did quarter back drills as we could kind of all tell that out quarter back was the team but we still had a chance even without him, well at least that’s what I believed.  I hated this night but only twenty minutes of practice were left so we just did special teams the entire time until practice was over.

            I went to my fraternity and invited a few friends over to hang out with the guys in my fraternity. We drank a lot of hot chocolate to warm up and basically the entire night we played our favorite video game Fifa 14. Nobody felt happier then me. I checked out the window and one way to describe it was Jack Frost had been eating icicles on the ceiling of my house.

Alaska football (first series i've made)

It was Thanksgiving and a tough night was the case as it was 21 degrees Fahrenheit with a horrible snow storm. Now these two players who were both football players had been in the middle of a blistering cold snow storm and there coach was a total football freak so they just had to play on through the horrible weather.

            Now the reason why we had to keep going is because a new college football team goes to play in the league and it had been called University of Alaska (UOA). And so everyone in Alaska was so excited and the coach was a total freak ad his name was Dave Holcomb and all the players hated him but after all he was a good coach and really wanted to make a bowl game this year or whatever they’re called. You see Alaska was new to this so we didn’t understand all of the activities that were displayed for the NCAA .
